Profile
Cleveland School of Cannabis is a cannabis career school at 5755 Granger Rd, Suite 100 in Independence, Ohio — a suburb of Cleveland — and holds the distinction of being the first accredited cannabis-focused school in the United States. Founded in 2015 by Austin Briggs, CSC received a 10-year accreditation from the Middle States Association-Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools in 2024 after a three-year review process, and is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education’s database of accredited postsecondary institutions. The campus operates a licensed industrial hemp grow lab, a processing room equipped for trimming, extraction, and rosin production, VR headsets for virtual facility tours, and a mock dispensary built in partnership with Dutchie. Programs cover horticulture, cannabis history, medical applications, dispensary business, extracts and processing, and cannabis law — offered in-person, fully remote, and hybrid formats.
Independence sits just south of Cleveland off I-77, making the campus accessible from across Cuyahoga County and the broader northeast Ohio region. CSC’s curriculum is aimed at career-changers and new entrants looking to enter cultivation, retail, processing, or compliance roles in Ohio’s growing cannabis industry. Open Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM. Call (216) 465-4161.
